Growth Programmes

Growth Programmes at Clifton College

The aims of our growth programmes are to encourage participants to strive to become healthy, capable, confident contributing members of the school and wider community. In other words we have a strong ethos of developing the child as a whole.

We have several programmes in place:

The Lifestyle Excellence or Lion’s Pride Award

The LEA program is based on the Duke of Edinburgh Award which is run in the UK and Internationally. It is a program that encourages participants to excel in several different categories and at different levels.

Categories:

Service – fundraising, service to the school and/or community

Physical Recreation – participation in sport

New Skills – clubs, courses

Expeditions/Residential courses – school camps, training camps

Academic – effort or achievement

Levels:

Bronze – School participation level

Silver – Participation at a higher level

Gold – Leadership level

 

Themes of focus per year group

Each form have they own personal or social development focus. Their themes are built into yearly compulsory events and into the school curriculum.
